UNITED WAY OF THE LOWER MAINLAND AND COURAGE FOR KIDS PROGRAM
In 2005, the BC Lions partnered with United Way of the Lower Mainland in support of our Courage For Kids program. Over 4,000 children attended a BC Lions home game in 2005 due to the generosity of the corporate sponsors of the Courage For Kids program and the United Way of the Lower Mainland.

Every Yard Counts
In 2006 the BC Lions have continued their partnership with BC Chlidren’s Hospital and Save on Foods for the second year of The Every Yard Counts Program. This program provided an opportunity for children to attend a BC Lions' home game, allowing them to get away from their treatment schedules and the every day battles they fight. Not only did the children get to experience the excitement and emotion of a CFL game, but they also get to meet the people they know as “The Players.” The interactions had far-reaching effects by creating feelings of hope and happiness. It is an enjoyable and rewarding event for everyone involved. Our BC Lions' representatives for the program are Geroy Simon and Mark Washington.

It offers an opportunity for kids to connect with the Police and move towards being “onside” living a healthy, productive lifestyle.

I own and operate the only Crestcom management skills training franchise in British Columbia.
I have been facilitating management training sessions in the Lower Mainland since July 2005.
The training program I offer is very unique in the sense that it offers a gradual learning approach (one 4-hour session per month for 12 months) and focuses on the people side of organizations.
The curriculum emphasizes development and practical application of core management skills, resulting in a positive and productive culture and retention of key talent. The training is not specific to any industry, type of manager or company size. Public and private training sessions are available.
I am also available for ad-hoc consulting work and keynote speaking.
My previous experience includes 22 years in corporate business, half of that in senior management positions. I earned an MBA in 2003 while working full-time.
I live in Tsawwassen with my wife and two children, aged 13 and 11.

Delta Cable Communications Ltd. |
5381 - 48th Avenue, Delta, BC, V4K 1W7 |
customerservice@deltacable.com | Tel: (604) 946-1144 |
Providing quality cable television services and Hi-Speed Internet access to the residents of North Delta, Ladner, Tsawwassen and Point Roberts.
Delta Cable Communications Ltd. (Delta Cable) was incorporated in 1965 by W. Stan Thomas, one of Canada’s earliest (1954) cable television pioneers, to serve the Municipality of Delta, B.C.
Our first customers were located in the Beach Grove area of South Delta and started coming on stream in September of 1966. At that time, the cable network had only a twelve channel capacity (which was the limit of technology in that day) and offered a total of only nine television and eight FM Radio stations, most of which were received "over-the-air" from Bellingham and Seattle.
Between 1966 and 1968, the Company concentrated its efforts on establishing the South Delta (Tsawwassen and Ladner) cable network, while the North Delta area was developed from 1968 forward.
Today, Delta Cable remains 100% owned and operated by the Thomas Family of Delta. Our President and CEO, John Thomas, has been a full-time employee of the cable industry since 1966. Delta Cable now employs eighty-five personnel, most of whom live in Delta and four of whom are third-generation Thomas Family members.
Delta Cable has a proud history of pioneering excellence in the cable television industry. Our Company was one of the very first cable companies in the world to deploy battery-powered, standby power supplies; broadcast-quality community programming techniques and equipment; bi-directional cable transmission; and high-speed Internet and broadband, high-capacity data communications.
We credit our senior staff, some of whom have been with the Company for well over thirty years, for many of the innovations and outstanding customer service standards we have established. Delta Cable’s Community Programming (DCTV4) staff has won numerous local, regional and national awards for programming excellence. Many of our staff are very involved with various sports, art, service club, business and community groups and work hard at making Delta a better place in which to live. We are very proud of all these significant achievements.
Our state-of-the-art network delivers sixty television and over forty radio services across over 320 km of coaxial and fibre optics cables in traditional formats with over one hundred digital cable services now available in all operating areas. The future of communications is digital and we have the capacity to add hundreds of new digital services as they become available. Traditional format delivery provides service access to customers’ receivers without the use of decoders or converters.
Above all else, we at Delta Cable are committed to deliver our customers outstanding service twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week, every week of the year.
To our present customers: "Many thanks for the opportunity to be of service to your communication, information and entertainment needs."
To our future customers: "We look forward to providing you with our quality, guaranteed and varied services, at your call." |

Delta Deas Rowing Club |

deltadeas@telus.net | Tel: (604) |
The home of the Delta Deas Rowing Club is the Boathouse in the Deas Island Park, Delta, British Columbia and rowing is on the Deas Waterway. All practices and several regattas are held at this location. The organization is a member in good standing of Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) and competes in RCA sanctioned events, as well as other events sponsored by high schools and rowing clubs.
The first rowing event on the Deas Slough was a BC Championship held on May 10 and 11, 1986. The event was a resounding success, and as a result, retired rowing Olympians, Lyle Gatley, Joy Fera, and Bill McKerlich and others formed a society, which was incorporated on December 3, 1986.
Coaches Murray Johnson and Lyle Gatley prepared students for the 1987 B.C. Summer Games hosted by the Delta Deas Rowing Club. West Shore terminals provided a dock for that event.
The following year, the GVRD gave approval for DDRC to operate in Deas Park and with the help of a "Go B.C." grant, donations from the Delta Credit Union and Delta Cablevision; ground breaking for the Boathouse took place in March 1988.
South Delta Secondary School students from Mr. Gatley’s Building Construction class, along with others, worked months on the project, completing it in time to host the B.C. Youth Championships in 1989.
In 1995 the DDRC members expanded the dock to reduce the impact on the foreshore, and to meet the growing needs of the rowing club and the community. Recently, the DDRC has developed architectural plans for a new boathouse that will double the space for shells and canoes, and offer washrooms, indoor training facilities, and a social room for its members.
The DDRC has hosted an annual High School Regatta for the past 17 years, and a Masters regatta for the past 10 years.
