The Delta Arts Council is calling for auditions.  All young players who are interested can go the the DAC Facebook page for more details.

If you are interested or if you know someone who might be interested in playing the Sun Festival 2011 Main Stage, get started with the DAC Young People's Concert Auditions.

This is a great way to build your fan base and perfect your performance.

The Tsawwassen Business Association will be working with DAC to establish regular opportunities for local performers to showcase their talents and hopefully qualify for the 2011 Sun Festival.

The Saturday Night Dance Series Continues:

As a partner in the Arts and Culture Initiative, KinVillage hosts a gala dance event the first Saturday of the month.  August 7th will be no exception, as Paper Moon makes their first appearance in Tsawwassen.

Dance standards and favorite melodies will delight you as one of Metro Vancouver's best dance floors awaits you.  Quickly gaining a reputation as one of the hottest dance venues around, Tsawwassen's favorite community centre is the backdrop for a great evening.

Tickets are only $15 for non members and $13 for members

There is a full service bar where you can can enjoy mixed drinks, beer, wine or an assortment of soft drinks and coffee.

Guitar-rocker, known for hit Mama Let Him Play, performs with Delta 88

Jerry Doucette and Delta 88 are teaming up again at the Tsawwassen Sun Festival.

Doucette, a local guitarist and singer-songwriter, performed with the band at last year's event and had a fun time doing so.

"We're jamming around and having a good time. It's great. There's beautiful weather and [we're] having a good time with it," he says.

The blues, soul and funk band will take the Century Group Main Stage with Doucette on Monday at 4:15 p.m.

KinVillage is hosting a special Sun Festival event Saturday July 31st.  The Diplomats, ever popular are back to play all the dance favorites.  If you have experience with Ballroom styles you will love the band's selection of American dance standards, Fox Trot, Quick Step, and Waltz.  The International dance styles of Rumba, Cha Cha, Tango, Samba and more.

The evening is not just for those with dance experience. Everyone is welcome!  If you have been interested in or have considering taking ballroom lessons, come on out.  There are always instructors on hand to show you a few steps and perhaps spark your interest.  While lessons do continue through the summer months, September is when they get back into the full programs.  You can find out all about these programs which take place at KinVillage Community Centre.

If you cannot attend the Sun Festival Saturday Night event, plan to make it August 7th when big band "Paper Moon" will be featured.

The Tsawwassen Business Association's Arts & Culture initiative is bringing major events together throughout the year.  Sun Festival, Tsawwassen's biggest weekend will feature music and dance all weekend long starting Friday night.  

Back by popular demand, to The Stage at RCL 289 Delta 88 will kick things off with their blend of Blues, Soul and Funk.

The Stage has become the place for live music in Tsawwassen as a result of the Arts & Culture initiative and the efforts of partners such as The Royal Canadian Legion 289.  

The show starts at 8:00 pm

If you miss them Friday, Delta 88 is back on the Century Group Main Stage on August 2nd at Winskill Park.  The band will feature last year's Mentor of the Arts Award Recipient and Juno Award Winner - Jerry Doucette.  The set closes the Sun Festival and gets underway at 4:15 PM.  Don't miss it!
